Anyone regret moving to Pleasanton?

Hi all, I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 77,500 people. You can expect to pay around $3,017 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Westside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Midtown area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
