Best restaurants in Pleasanton?

Hey, With a population of 77,500, Pleasanton is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $1,432,300 on average. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $3,017 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Is this normal for Pleasanton? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 35, moved here 11 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in West and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The safety situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for young professionals. excellent vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
