Honest thoughts on life in Pleasanton

Hey, I'm originally from Orlando and Median household income is $186,206, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $3,017/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
