Hey folks, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Pleasanton sits at 133.3 per 100K. Rent is about $3,017/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
