Planning a move to Pleasantville -neighborhoods?

So, Median household income is $177,591, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cost of living is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
