It's a a smaller city city with about 79,526 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The pet-friendliness scene is solid
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
