Hey folks, I'm a 30-year-old social worker and You can expect to pay around $1,712 for rent here. Homes are going for about $266,900 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Thanks for reading. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I work in consulting here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is challenging. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a lawyer, 53, moved here 13 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in The Heights and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The housing market situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
