Unpopular opinion about Poinciana

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $266,900, which seems about average. Median household income is $63,042, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $266,900 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
