Hey folks, We have two kids and Median household income is $20,486, which feels on the lower side for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Nashville it's average.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Seattle about 15 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
