What surprised you most about Polson?

Curious what people think. I've been here for 17 years and Rent is about $921/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 5,334 people. Median household income is $51,463, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 5,334, Polson is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Polson sits at 512.3 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
Worth the trade-offs? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
