First post here. Been living here since 2006. With a population of 1,423, Pomeroy is a small town. Homes are going for about $205,200 on average. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 1,423 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in The Heights for 10 years. Moved from Denver for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Can feel isolated. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
