Is Pomona still affordable?

Alright, Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,738/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $78,869 in Pomona. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
Thoughts? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 38, moved here 6 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The school system situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 6 years. Moved from Raleigh for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited entertainment options. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
