Starting a business in Pomona?

Hey everyone, Been living here since 2015. You can expect to pay around $1,738 for rent here. Rent is about $1,738/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Atlanta about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.
