Working remotely from Pomona

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $569,600, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $78,869 in Pomona. With a population of 148K, Pomona is a mid-size city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cheers. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Nashville about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is average.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The public transit is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
