The good and bad of living in Pomona
First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $100,382 in Pomona. Rent is about $897/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $244,500 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up.
