Is Pompano Beach worth it salary-wise?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 9 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Pompano Beach sits at 792.7 per 100K. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Rent is about $1,636/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
