I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $321,900 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Austin about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
