Healthcare options in Pompton Lakes?

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $411,100, which is pretty steep. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm a sales manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Highland area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2024 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Moved here from Atlanta about 14 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to traffic but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Atlanta about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
