Life in Pompton Lakes as a young professional

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $119,038 in Pompton Lakes. Poverty rate is 8.2%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
