Honest thoughts on life in Pompton Plains

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $113,661 in Pompton Plains. Median household income is $113,661, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $3,297 for rent here. Homes are going for about $488,200 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Close to nature
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Not enough green space
Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
