Best neighborhoods in Pontiac

My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $59,579, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 11,483 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Pontiac sits at 249.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 7.1%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Diverse community
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- Not enough green space
I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
