We have two kids and It's a a smaller city city with about 61,914 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Pontiac sits at 1,286.2 per 100K. Rent is about $1,007/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $110,600, which is actually reasonable. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in The Heights for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The dating scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Indian places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
