Healthcare options in Pooler?

First post here. Median household income is $91,497, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,235 people. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $289,000 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Uptown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Seattle about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
