Grocery stores in Poplar Bluff -recommendations?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Boston and The median home value here is around $109,700, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $42,035 in Poplar Bluff. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Worth the trade-offs?

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 55, moved here 5 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Greenfield and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Great outdoor activities nearby
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The nightlife situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Boston it's surprisingly good.
