What I wish I knew before living in Poplar Grove

So, The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks in advance! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
