Affordable areas near Port Charlotte?

Hey folks, It's a a smaller city city with about 64,971 people. The median home value here is around $249,400, which is actually reasonable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. TIA!

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Midtown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Diverse dining options
- The job market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
