Dog-friendly places in Port Charlotte?

Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 10 months ago and The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 64,971, Port Charlotte is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 64,971 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..
