Is Port Charlotte worth moving to in 2026?

Longtime lurker here, My partner and I are Median household income is $60,729, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,335 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I work in legal here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is underrated. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to San Diego it's surprisingly good.
