Hey folks, We have two kids and You can expect to pay around $1,922 for rent here. Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Port Chester sits at 25.0 per 100K. Household incomes average around $99,916 in Port Chester. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
