Hello, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 10.8%, which is around average. Median household income is $58,524, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $882/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is tough in most areas.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from New York about 13 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.
