First post here. Homes are going for about $140,900 on average. It's a a small town city with about 1,776 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Downtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The public transit scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
