We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Maple Ridge area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Houston it's average.

Came here for school and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The cultural scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
