Curious what people think. I'm single, late 20s, and Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Household incomes average around $53,648 in Port LaBelle. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I wrong here?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Dallas about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Midtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The food scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
