Unpopular opinion about Port Lavaca

So, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $65,395 in Port Lavaca. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I work in education here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is hit or miss. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..
