Moving from Salt Lake City to Port Orange next month

My partner and I are Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely improving and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much established but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is improving

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Springfield area are solid. Kids love it here.
