Remote worker thinking about Port Orange
Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. It's a a smaller city city with about 63,818 people. Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. You can expect to pay around $1,448 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
