I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $262,700 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Port St. John sits at 602.6 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance!

I work in retail here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is decent. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Uptown for 11 years. Moved from Tampa for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is tough - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And food scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The pet-friendliness scene is average
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Asian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in North for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The public transit scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
