Remote worker thinking about Port St. Lucie

Hey, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $78,137 in Port St. Lucie. Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Midtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The safety scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
