Living in Port Townsend -the reality

Hey, I've been here for 3 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Port Townsend sits at 419.2 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 10,290 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Downtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (The Heights) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
