Best areas to explore in Port Washington?

Been living here since 2005. Median household income is $183,964, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $2,218 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much wild but now it's improving.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
