Planning a move to Port Washington -neighborhoods?

First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and With a population of 17,613, Port Washington is a small town. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Appreciate any input.

I work in real estate here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Eastside area are tough. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
