Dog-friendly places in Porterville?

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $273,600, which seems about average. Median household income is $59,012, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $273,600 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Thanks! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..
