The good and bad of living in Porterville

Alright, Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's improving.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 8 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.
