Internet providers in Portland?

Hello, The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $452,600 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I work in legal here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is challenging. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 12 years. Moved from Atlanta for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Dating scene is rough. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Sunset area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.
