What I love and hate about Portland

Genuine question: I'm currently renting in Pearl District and trying to figure out my next move. Property values in Laurelhurst went up 3% last year alone. The weather took some getting used to but I actually love it now.

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to Irvington from Raleigh about 7 years ago. Initially I was excited but nervous. But after settling in, I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years..

A few things I'd recommend:

- Check out Irvington and Montavilla for housing

- Try the farmers market on Saturday mornings

- Don't judge the whole city by downtown

The biggest adjustment was nightlife. I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years.. Overall I'd give Portland a 6/10 for young professionals.
