How much do you pay for rent in Portland?

So, Homes are going for about $256,400 on average. With a population of 13,325, Portland is a small town. Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Uptown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The dating scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Definitely worth checking out..
