Housing market in Portland right now

OK so Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs?

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Springfield for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much growing but now it's pretty good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
