Internet providers in Portola Valley?

Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $2,000,001, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Does this match your experience? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 42, moved here 3 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Fairview and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The safety situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I work in finance here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is average. Good luck with whatever you decide..
