Best hidden gems in Post Falls

Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 41,716, Post Falls is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks for reading. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Midtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 40, moved here 15 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in East and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Limited shopping options
3. The job market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for young professionals. average vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Fairview for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The job market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 11 years. Moved from Minneapolis for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Dating scene is rough. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much pricey but now it's hit or miss.
