Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've lived in East for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- The dating scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in legal here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is excellent. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Portland about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Maple Ridge area are solid. Kids love it here.
